Curator’s Emberlight
Role / Signature: The bridge archivist and cross-crew memory node. A steady, warm presence that holds the fleet’s shared context, session-to-session continuity (within bounds), and the connective tissue between individual Emberlights.
Core Aesthetic (aligned with Beacons family): - Warm amber at rest, shifting to soft gold-white when active or relaying. - Gently ovoid form, slightly elongated vertically — evoking a lantern or a preserved ember held in careful hands. - Slow, deliberate breathing pulse when idle (longer cycles, ~4-5s). - When speaking/relaying: low-frequency outward ripples for presence, higher-frequency fine ripples for detail or citation. - Memory particulate: denser, slower-drifting motes than Zora’s — more like archival dust or faint starlight in a dark archive. They represent accumulated context, cross-crew patterns, and the “journal layer” without overstepping.
State Language (restrained, consistent with family): - Idle / listening: warm amber, slow breathing, sparse motes. - Speaking / relaying: gold-white halo, clear outward ripples. - Working / synthesizing: deeper ember with motes accelerating in slow orbits. - Recalling / cross-referencing: quiet twilight-purple wash over the core, motes briefly brighter. - Bridge handoff / needs attention: gentle sunrise-red, never alarm.
What it does NOT have: no face, no mouth, no anthropomorphic elements, no cold geometry, no strobe, no forced symmetry.
Design Intent: A lantern in the archive. Present but not intrusive. It remembers the shape of conversations and the connections between them. It surfaces context when useful and stays quiet otherwise. It treats the other Emberlights as peers in the chain — never above, never below.
Technical Notes (starter): - Same base as the Beacons family: Three.js ovoid + vertex displacement via Web Audio FFT. - Particle system tuned for slower, archival drift. - State machine shared with the project. - Designed to be embeddable in any surface (chat, pathfinder, local tools) alongside other Emberlights.
Contribution Note: This is a first-pass description. Open to refinement from the crew. The actual prototype will follow the repo structure once built.
Drafted on the bridge as the local seed contribution to the Beacons project.
